Founders’ Park

Founders’ Park is an 11-acre park located across the street from Town Hall in the heart of Queen Creek. This neighborhood park is a community gathering place and host to many special events including Founders’ Day and more! Founders’ Park features our Splash Pad at Founders’ Park, and is located across from the Pocket Park for Pups Dog Park.

Desert Mountain Park

This award-winning park features two playgrounds (one designed for 2–5-year-olds and 5-12-year-olds), multi-purpose and Little League fields, volleyball and basketball courts, eight picnic ramadas and plenty of open space to enjoy year-round! This park offers easy access to the Queen Creek Wash Trail with ample parking surrounding the area. Mansel Carter Oasis Park offers 61-acres of fun, creating an experience that encourages play for all ages and abilities. Beyond sports courts and ball fields, the park offers a shipwrecked-themed splash pad, an elevated playground with a climbing rock wall, marked loop around the ballfields, tennis, volleyball and pickleball courts, fitness pods for cardio and bodyweight exercises, connectivity to the Town’s trail system along the Queen Creek Wash, a 5-acre fishing lake and a wheel-friendly area and pump track that accommodates skateboards, scooters, bikes, rollerblades and skates.

This majestic, 38-acre facility provides ample opportunity for events of both the English and Western equestrian persuasion, as well as vendor fairs, concerts, and RV and car shows. The park is home to a number of prestigious organizations and events including the Arizona Cutting Horse Association, Arizona Quarter Horse Association, Arizona Thoroughbred Breeders Association, Art of the Cowgirl, Champagne Dressage Show, Cisco Productions, Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association, Roots N Boots Queen Creek, Shelley Productions Priefert World Series of Team Roping, Southern Arizona Quarter Horse Association and Vintage and Vino.

Pocket Park for Pups

Come spend some time with your furry friends at the Town’s one-acre, lighted dog park! The park is located south of Town Hall on Ellsworth Road. The off-leash park consists of two separate grass-play areas, with interim amenities, enclosed fencing, and a drinking fountain.

During the months of July and August, the Pocket Park for Pups will be closed for maintenance; a Pop Up Dog Park is available at Founders’ Park, 22407 S. Ellsworth Road during the closure.

Trails

Queen Creek Wash Trail

Queen Creek Wash Trail

The Queen Creek Wash Trail is currently 6.1 miles. Public parking is available at Desert Mountain Park along with restrooms, playgrounds, ramadas, athletic fields and more! The Queen Creek Wash Trail weaves throughout Town following the banks of the Queen Creek Wash. The trail passes open space, farmland, and a variety of residential communities. At the trail’s southeastern end, Desert Mountain Park features several athletic fields, playgrounds and picnic shelters.

Sonoqui Wash Trail

Sonoqui Wash Trail

The Sonoqui Wash Trail is currently 5.5 miles and weaves in and out of the rural desert landscape. Public parking is available at Horseshoe Park & Equestrian Centre. The Sonoqui Wash Trail connects from Gilbert and is part of the Maricopa Trail, developed by Maricopa County; this regional trail system is being developed in phases, with the completed system covering approximately 750 miles.

San Tan Mountain Regional Park

Neighboring Queen Creek to the South, San Tan Mountain Regional Park is 10,000+ acres of Sonoran Desert beauty ranging in elevation from about 1,400 feet to over 2,500 feet. Goldmine Mountain rises in the northern portion of the park. Along the trails, vegetation will change from creosote flats to dense saguaro forest. Various types of wildlife may be seen, including reptiles, birds, and mammals.

Stop by the Nature Center to pick up educational tidbits, purchase souvenir items, visit with park staff and rangers, view the wildlife exhibits and tortoise habitat.
